Mr. Edward Lindsey, age 78, of 10530 Old Savannah Road in Sandersville died Tuesday December 1 in the Washington County Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday December 4 in the Jackson’s Baptist Church near Sandersville with burial in the Jackson’s Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Mike Jones and Rev. M. D. Cabe will officiate.

Mr. Lindsey was a native of Emanuel County, Georgia, the son of the late Grady Lindsey and the late Myrtice Frost Lindsey and had lived in Washington County most of his life. He was a retired manager of the crude division of B H Transfer Company. Mr. Lindsey was a member and a Deacon in the Jackson’s Baptist Church. Mr. Lindsey was predeceased by a brother, Bobby Lindsey and a son in law, Paul Bryan.

Survivors are his wife, Eileen Wiggins Lindsey of Sandersville, a daughter, Deborah Lindsey Bryan of Sandersville, a son, Donald Edward Lindsey and his wife Gloria of Sandersville, a sister, Jackie Lindsey of Augusta, five grandchildren, Jamie Lindsey, Pam Lindsey Foskey, Charlie Lindsey, Chris Bryan and Jason Bryan, eight great grandchildren, Hannah Lindsey, Taylor Lindsey, Chase Lindsey, Jake Foskey, Cohen Bryan, Ashley Claxton, Andrew Claxton and Heather Claxton.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Thursday evening.

The family suggests that donations be made to the Jackson’s Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 10530 Old Savannah Road, Sandersville, Georgia 31082.
