James William Lord, Jr.

Mr. James William “Jimmy” Lord Jr., age 69, of Warthen Street in Sandersville passed away following a lengthy illness at his home on Friday, September 25, 2026. His family will gather to celebrate his life at a later date.

Jimmy was born in Sandersville and reared in Tennille son of the late James William Lord Sr. and the late Allene Mathis Lord. Following his graduation from Washington County High School he attended Technical College in North Georgia prior to returning home and beginning a career as a machine mechanic. He first worked from Royal Manufacturing and retired from the William Carter Company. Earlier in his life he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also loved to craft things out of wood.

He is survived by his wife Cathy B. Lord of Sandersville; his step-daughter Christi Johnson and her husband Glenn of Sparta; and granddaughters Shelby Peacock (Chandler) of Cochran and Julianna Williamson (Cole) of Starkville, MS.
