James Eldridge Mason

Mr. James Eldridge Mason, age 65, of 516 East South Central Avenue in Tennille died Thursday, January 27, 2011, in a Sandersville hospital following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 30th, in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville with burial in the Zeta Cemetery in Tennille. Elder Kenneth Brantley will officiate. Pallbearers will be Raymond Pounds, Willie Green, Johnathan Mason, Andrew Smith, Greg Avrett, Michael Avrett and Rebecca Avrett.


Mr. Mason was a life long resident of Washington County, the son of the late John Wilmer Mason and the late Jewel Grace Ellis Mason. He was preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine Mason Redding. He was a paper carrier for the Macon Telegraph for over twenty eight years.
Mr. Mason was a former maintenance supervisor for Washington Manufacturing Company. He attended the Kendall Heights Church of God.



Survivors are his wife, Teri C. Mason of Tennille, a daughter, Pam Avrett and her husband Gregory of Tennille, a son, Chris Brady of Tennille, three grandchildren, Greg Avrett, Michael Avrett and Rebecca Avrett, a sister, Dorothy Mason Ward of Tennille, four brothers, Donnie Mason, Gerald Mason, Buddy Mason all of Tennille and Ronnie Mason of Sandersville.


The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Saturday.
