James Evans Mcconnell

Mr. James Evans McConnell, age 84, of 7480 Mayview Road in Warthen died on Saturday, June 7, 2014.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 10, in the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Warthen. Rev. Bill Eckles and Rev. Tim Powell will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday until the hour of service.

Mr. McConnell was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the son of the late James Carlisle McConnell and the late Florence Moore McConnell. He was preceded in death by a sister, Martha McConnell Henderson. Mr. McConnell was a graduate of Sandersville High School and an Army Veteran. He was a retired heavy equipment foreman for Smith-Sheppard Inc. and the owner of Mid State Realty. Mr. McConnell was a member and Deacon of the Bethlehem Baptist Church, a member of the Sandersville Lions Club and the Hamilton Masonic Lodge #58 F&AM.

Survivors are his wife, Shirley Mills McConnell of Warthen, a daughter, Lisa McConnell Channell and her husband Eric of Warthen, two grandchildren, Harley Evan Channell and Houston Elliott Channell, a sister in law, Peggy Mills of Warthen, a niece, Angela Williamson and a nephew, Jack Henderson.
