Marvin was born on December 13, 1928 in Sandersville, GA to Marvin, Sr. and Julia Peacock O'Dillon, but he grew up in nearby Tennille. Marvin graduated from Tennille High School and earned a Business Administration degree at North Georgia College in Dahlonega, where he met the love of his life, Catherine West. They were married on January 1, 1950 and enjoyed 59 years of marriage until Catherine's death in 2009. They had four children that they loved very much. Marvin described his life as "a blessed man."
Because Marvin loved and followed the Lord Jesus Christ, he was very active at Tabernacle Baptist Church as a member for 66 years where he was a faithful choir member, an adult Sunday School teacher, a Deacon, and church treasurer for numerous years. Marvin also served on many committees and volunteered for various ministries at his church.
Marvin worked at the C&S Bank for 40 years and for most of those years, he was a Vice President. After retirement, he was faithful to attend the C&S Retiree's Luncheon meeting each month.
Marvin volunteered with the Medical Center/Navicent Health Auxiliary for over 26 years. He loved traveling, camping, crossword puzzles, Georgia football, Atlanta Braves baseball and eating out at Jeneane's at Pinebrook.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Catherine.
