James "Pedro" Shelton

Mr. James B. “Pedro” Shelton, age 78, of Warthen, died Monday, November 3, 2014 at the Heritage Inn Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 7th at 2:00 p.m. at the Union Baptist Church with burial in the Church Cemetery. Rev. Robert Cash and Rev. Roy Smith will officiate. Pallbears will be Caleb Brown, Scotty Brown, Jason Turner, Stuart Turner, R.D. Brown and Steve West.

Mr. Shelton was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County the son of the late William Ray Shelton and the late Jessie Lewis Shelton. He was retired from the J.P. Stevens Company and he was a member of the Union Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.

Survivors are; his wife Kay Chambers Shelton of Warthen, children, Priscilla Shelton of Linton, Stephanie Shelton of Athens, Beverly Shelton of Warthen, and Travis Shelton and his wife Laurie of New Orleans LA, his grandson Colin Shelton, sisters, Doris S. Durden and Margaret Shelton both of Milledgeville and nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
