James K Wilson

James K. Wilson, Jr. (Jim), age 87, of Amelia Island, FL died December 16, 2024 at Amelia Island.

James K., the oldest son of James K. Wilson, Sr. and Julia McArthur Wilson, grew up on the family farm located in Davisboro, GA.  He attended Sandersville High School and graduated from Georgia Tech in 1961 with a BS in Industrial Management.  While at Georgia Tech he married Mary Jean Cantrell.

After graduating from Georgia Tech he entered the U. S. Navy.  During his Naval Career he served on two destroyers and his final duty prior to leaving the Navy was Commanding Officer of a Division of Patrol Boats patrolling the rivers of South Vietnam.  After leaving the Navy he worked in the brown paper industry retiring in 2001 from Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation.  After retiring he enjoyed attending GA Tech home football games, fishing on his boat, Gray Beard, hunting with his friends and spending time on the family farm which has been in the family since 1907.

James K. is survived by his wife, Jean, and sister Martha Armstrong of Sandersville, GA.

He was predeceased by his brother, Bruce Wilson, of Davisboro, GA.
