Jane Bridges Frisbie, beloved wife of Rick Frisbie, died October 2, 2024 of injuries received in an automobile accident near her home in Tucker, Georgia. Jane was born in Sandersville, Georgia, October 31, 1948 to Spud & Evelyn Bridges. After Evelyn's untimely passing, Spud married Sara Bell whom Jane and her siblings considered their mother.
Jane was a dedicated school teacher at Riverdale Elementary School for 38 years where she enriched the lives of so many children and co-workers. Jane graduated from Washington County High School in Sandersville in 1966 and received her Bachelor of Arts in Education from the Georgia College in Milledgeville and her Master of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Georgia. Eventually, she came to her senses and was converted to a Florida Gator by her husband Rick. Jane loved traveling, playing bridge and was a voracious reader.
She's survived by her husband Rick, sister Anne Fowler (Zack), sister-in-law Marjorie Bridges, brother-in-law Hank Frisbie (Carol), sister-in-law MaryAnn Holland (Carl), brother-in-law Mark (LouAnn), sister-in-law Lisa Cullins, numerous nieces and nephews, whom she adored, and many gracious and loving friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Irwin Bridges III.
A memorial service for Jane will be held Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at 11:00 am. at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 3150 Lawrenceville Hwy, Tucker, 30084 immediately followed by a reception. The service will be officiated by her brother-in-law, Reverend Hank Frisbie, retired.
