Janet Hart Dallas

Mrs. Janet Hart Dallas, age 78 of Athens, passed away at her home following an extended illness, on Saturday, February 21, 2026. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday, February 25th at 2:00 p.m. in May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in Davisboro City Cemetery. Reverend Mike Jones and Reverend Larry Glover will officiate. Pallbearers will be Randy Mosley, Bartley Mosley, Danny Brown, Buddy Mosley, Steve Pardue and Jody Josey. Jan's family will greet friends prior to the funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Jan was born in Washington County and reared in Davisboro, daughter of the late Bernard Hart and the late Lucille Mosley Hart Brooks. She cherished growing up in Davisboro, spending days fishing and swimming at Lewis’ Lake. Jan graduated from Washington County High School and attended beauty school in Atlanta. She became a beauty consultant and spent most of her career with Belk Department Stores. She and Rich lived in Madison, Lake Oconee and Watkinsville, where Jan also assisted in their family restaurant business. Some of Jan's happiest times were spent on the beach at Anna Maria Island, Florida or Tybee Island, Georgia.

Jan is survived by her husband, Richard Dallas of Athens; her daughter, Amy Faulk and her husband Keith of Watkinsville and grandchildren, Alexis and Jordan Faulk.
