Mrs. Janet Blue Strickland, age 63, of Tennille died on Thursday, December 17, 2015, at the Washington County Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 20, in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Washington County Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Reverend Danny Thomas will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Wesley Sheppard, Howard Veal, Jeffrey Blue, John Bridges, Dustin Blue and Ashley Cobb.
Mrs. Strickland was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the daughter of the late Francis Todd Blue. She was a homemaker and a member of the National Rifle Association and the American Association of Retired Persons. Mrs. Strickland is preceded in death by a brother, Jeff Blue.
Survivors are: her husband, Franklin L. Strickland of Tennille; three daughters, Leona Strickland of Tennille, Kimberly Strickland Story and her husband Eric of Tennille, and Jennifer Strickland Thames and her husband Todd of Davisboro; three grandchildren, Tyson Thames, Mason Thames and Laney Thames; her father, Thomas Lamar Blue of Louisville; a sister, Susan Blue Starley of Milledgeville; three brothers, David Blue and his wife Vicky of Tennille, Mike Blue and his wife Judy of Tennille, and Scott Blue of Davisboro.
The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. on Saturday.
May and Smith Funeral Directors in Sandersville is in charge of the arrangements.
