Janice Armstrong Brown

Mrs. Janice Armstrong Brown, age 78, of 847 Mt. Zion Road in Warthen died Thursday night, October 20, 2011, in the Washington County Regional Medical Center in Sandersville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, October 23rd, in the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Warthen. The Rev. Tim Powell will officiate with burial in the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Mrs. Brown was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the daughter of the late Thomas Green Armstrong and the late Agnes Cook Armstrong. She was a licensed practical nurse and had been associated with the Washington County Regional Medical Center and the Oconee Health Care. She was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Survivors are her husband, V. Albert Brown of Warthen; her children, Gail (Dennis) Gibson of Barnwell, SC, Virgil Albert Brown, Jr. of Warthen, Jan (Ellis) Douglas of Harrison, Robin (Mitch) Archer of Sandersville, Elaine (Scott) Smith of Warthen, and Tommy (Angela) Brown of Warthen; a brother, Billy T. (Betty) Armstrong of Augusta; fifteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the residence, 847 Mt. Zion Road in Warthen from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. on Saturday.
