Janice Boyd Peavy

Mrs. Janice Boyd Peavy, age 86, of 1656 Bay Springs Road in Warthen died Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at her residence following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 14th, in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville. The Reverend Tim Powell will officiate with burial in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Peavy was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the daughter of the late Marvin Boyd, Sr and the late Alma Prichard Boyd. She was the wife of the late William Charles Peavy. Mrs. Peavy was a retired supervisor for Delta Apparel with over 30 years of service. She was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Survivors are her two children, David Joel Peavy of Warthen and Grace Peavy Askew of Hampton; five grandchildren, Bob Askew, Jr, Barbara Askew, Deborah Manning, April Peavy and Jason Peavy; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Francis Rewis of Milledgeville, Becky Elliott of Warner Robins and Lynette Faulk of Baxley.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Friday.
