Janice Brantley Robertson

Janice Brantley Robertson, age 79 of Dublin, formerly of Washington County, leaped into heaven peacefully with her daughter by her side on Thursday, February 29, 2024. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Mt. Gilead Primitive Baptist Church near Tennille. Elder Kenneth Brantley will officiate, and burial will be private in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Patrick Brantley, Bubba Brantley, and John Harrison. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 1, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Janice was born in Harrison, the daughter of the late Melvin Brantley and Hazel Brantley. She was a 1962 graduate of Washington County High School, where she was Miss WCHS and played clarinet in the band. Janice was also the 1961 Miss Kaolin. She was an accountant for firms in Macon and Atlanta, but her most recognized career venture was as owner of M’Lady’s Shoe Store in Dublin. In her spare time Janice enjoyed cooking, gardening, decorating, and fishing, and she was particularly fond of playing her baby grand piano. Along with her husband, she was the owner of Brantley Wood Company in Sandersville. Janice possessed a charming personality, was very witty and cheerful and she loved to laugh. More than anything else she valued time spent with her family. Janice was a member of Mt. Gilead Primitive Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two husbands, Charles E. Daniels and Aubrey “Al” Robertson; and brothers, James Hulon Brantley, and Gerry Brantley.

Janice is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Daniels of Dublin; sisters, Eleanor Schwartz, Kaye Brantley, and Carol Webb; and loving caregiver, Chris Stanley.
