Mrs. Jeanette Lindsey Harrell, age 92, of Davisboro, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, October 27, 2022. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Sunday, October 30 th , at 2:00 p.m., at New Hope United Methodist Church, with burial in Washington County Memorial Gardens. Reverend Ron Dixon and Reverend Quillian Mercer will officiate. Serving as pallbearers will be her great-grandsons and great-grandsons-in-law.
Mrs. Harrell was born and reared in Davisboro, where she graduated from Davisboro High School. She began working at the Peach Farm, as well as the Davisboro telephone exchange. She married the late Quillian R. Harrell and spent the remainder of her life working on their family farm, a job she treasured. Mrs. Harrell was an active member of New Hope UMC and participated in the United Methodist Women. She was a wonderful seamstress and loved to work in her garden. Mrs. Harrell's greatest joy came in cooking for her family to gather at her home. In addition to her husband, she is predeceased by her parents, Bennie Frank Lindsey and Carrie Smith Lindsey; her son-in-law Steve A. May; and her grandson Eddie Frost.
Survivors are her daughters, Linda H. Krygier and her husband Bob of N. Augusta, SC., Brenda H. May, Judy H. Mercer and her husband Sandy, both of Sandersville and Ellen H. McDowell and her husband Mike of Louisville; grandchildren, Mark Frost (Melissa) of Mitchell, Robbie May (Angela) and Julie M. Brannen (Wyley) all of Statesboro, Rev. Quillian Mercer (Rachael) and Cynthia M. Peterson (Roy) all of Macon, Chad McDowell (Brooke) of Louisville, Amber Howell (Travis) Martinez, Rebecca Hardy (Adam) of Evans and Erin Norton (Corey) of Louisville, 20 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
The family will be at the Harrell residence on Harrison-Davisboro Road on Saturday, and they will receive friends that afternoon from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
