Mrs. Jeanette Moats Warthen Williams, age 82, of 404 South Harris Street, died Saturday, January 18, 2014 in the Washington Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 21st at 11:00 AM in the Sandersville United Methodist Church with burial in the Friendship Baptist Church near Davisboro. Rev. Stephen C. Holton and Rev. Dr. Joe Buck, IV will officiate. Pallbearers will be Lester Moats, Randy Kent, Ray Cobb, Robert Harrell, John Brooker and Barry Phillips.
Mrs. Williams was born in Jefferson County, Georgia the daughter of the late German Moats and the late Reba Cobb Moats. She was a homemaker and a member of the Sandersville First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors are two daughters, Jackie Warthen Holton and her husband Tommy of Sandersville and Barbara Warthen Jordan and her husband Tommy of Sandersville, a son William G. Warthen of Sandersville, four grandchildren, Stephen C. Holton, Jennifer E. Holton and her husband Don Holton, T. Bryant Jordan and Elizabeth C.Jordan, a great grandson, Christopher Warthen Holton and a brother, Rogers Moats of Bartow.
The family suggests donations be made to the Sandersville United Methodist Church Foundation, P. O. Box 611, Sandersville, Georgia 31082, the Brentwood School Foundation, P. O. Box 955, Sandersville, Georgia 31082 or the Washington County Historical Society, P. O. Box 6088 Sandersville, Georgia 31082.
The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. on Monday.
