Jennifer Smith Copeland

Jennifer Smith Copeland, age 47, of Harrison passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024 at her residence.   A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, April 20th at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with burial in Mt. Gilead Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.  Rev. Andy Carter will officiate.   Pallbearers will be Wayne Smith, Wayne Godfrey, Will Clark, C.J. Smith, Richard Knowles, Nick Wilmot, Daniel Smith and Bobby Bates Jr.  A visitation will be held on Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.

Jennifer Lynn was born on January 11, 1977, in Laurens County the daughter of Rita Bates Weaver and the late Thomas James Smith.  She grew up in the Harrison area of Washington County and attended School in Johnson County. Jennifer was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.   She graduated from Johnson County High School in 1996 and attended college at Heart of Georgia Technical College where she graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse.  Her working career was spent at the Johnson County Health Department.   Jennifer enjoyed riding horses and reading.  She was a homebody and loved being at home with her family.

Survivors include her children, Lillian Copeland and her fiancé Daniel Smith of Dublin, Leighann Copeland and Charles Lee Copeland both of Wrightsville; her mother, Rita B. Weaver of Harrison; siblings, Thomas Wayne Smith (Mary) of Harrison and Cheryl Ann Armistead (Jeffery) of Walton County; and her future grandchildren, Emma Rose Smith and Aiden Alexander Smith.
