Mrs. Jennifer Hitchcock Farmer, age 74, of Johnston-Cochran Road in Tennille passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by family on Friday, May 16, 2025. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Monday, May 19th at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of May and Smith Funeral Home with burial in Zeta Cemetery in Tennille. Rev. Brian Massey and Rev. Weston Williford will officiate. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 18, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Caleb Cabe, Deric Garner, Bo Cabe, Joseph Malcolm Cabe, Eric Farmer and Mason Evans. Honorary pallbearers will be David Hitchcock, Jimmy Hitchcock and Donald Farmer.
Jennifer was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County and the daughter of the late Ellis Hartwell "Bo" Hitchcock and the late Adeline Meeks Hitchcock. She graduated from Washington County High School in 1969 and attended a business school in Orlando Florida while working in a local deli. She returned home to marry the love of her life Bobby Dean Farmer, Sr. She was a homemaker and also worked as a seamstress for Royal Manufacturing Company and the William Carter Company. She also assisted with tax preparations and worked with Mrs. Decker at the Tennille Florist. Jennifer enjoyed crafts, cooking for her family and tending to her house plants. She was known to be a prayer warrior and loved singing in the choir at the Tennille Church of God where she was a member. She later attended the Oconee Church of God and the First Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Bobby Dean Farmer Sr.; children, Jennifer Mechay Cabe and Bobby Dean Farmer Jr. and his wife Paula Farmer all of Tennille; grandchildren, Caleb Cabe, Ashley Garner (Deric), Sarah Ann Cabe and Bo Walker Cabe; an aunt, Rubye Hitchcock; cousins Alisha Dale, Darlene Hutcheson and Shannon Casule; and a former son-in-law, Joseph Malcolm “Mac” Cabe.
