Mr. Jerry F. Brantley, age 63 of Sandersville passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025, at Washington County Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. A celebration of life visitation will be held on Monday, October 6, 2025, from 5:00p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home.
Mr. Brantley was a lifelong resident of Washington County, the son of the late Paul Eugene Brantley and the late Allie Fowler McDonald. He was a graduate of Washington County High School and held an associate’s degree from OFTC. Mr. Brantley spent most of his working career with Central State Hospital in Milledgeville. He was a true lover of sports, an avid Georgia Bulldog fan, and spent a lot of time playing baseball and softball. Mr. Brantley had a heart of gold and would do anything he could to help others. He was greatly loved by animals and children alike. Mr. Brantley served his country as a member of the National Guard. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Paulette Jones; and foster brother, Craig Willimason.
Mr. Brantley is survived by his daughters, Madison Rickman (Tara) of Knoxville, TN, Hallie Brantley of Guntersville, AL, and Hannah Brantley of Athens; grandson, Kayden Brantley; siblings, Angela Garnto, Jay Brantley, and Emily Zaenglein, all of Sandersville; niece, Kaitlin Jones ( Jenna Hodges Jones); nephews, Josh Garnto, Jake Zaenglein, Seth Jones (Whitney); great nephews, Jackson, Harrison, and John Paul; and faithful four-legged companion, Delilah.
