JONES COUNTY: Jerry Douglas Phillips, 74, of Chapel Hill Circle, died Wednesday, September 14, 2016, at his residence. The family will greet friends from 2:00pm-3:00pm, Sunday, September 18, 2016, at Bridges Funeral Home in Gray. Services will follow at 3:00pm, in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be private.

Mr. Phillips was born June 14, 1942, in Washington County and had lived in Jones County for the past fifteen years. He was the son of the late Robert Phillips and Gladys Ida Sweat Phillips. Mr. Phillips was a retired self-employed carpenter and attended Christ Community Church. He loved playing the guitar and piano.

Mr. Phillips is survived by his wife: Carolyn Phillips; children: Davey Mike (Jennifer) Phillips, Douglas Heath Phillips, and Carolyn Nichole (Tom) Spath; grandchildren: Destiny Ann (Kendon) McMurray, Brianna Katlin Hutchinson, Benjamin Cody Phillips, Gabrielle Grace Phillips, Jacob Tyler Phillips, Ayden Michael Phillips and William Walker Phillips; great-granddaughter: Isabella Ann McMurray; and Lisa Marsh and Lisa Hutchinson.

The family may be contacted at the residence at 201 Chapel Hill Circle in Jones County.
