Mr. Jesse Lee Parker, age 89, of Sandersville died Thursday March 12 in the Washington County Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday March 15 in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville with burial in the Brownwood Cemetery. The Rev. Jerry O’Neal and Rev. Peter Barlow will officiate. Pallbearers will be Otis Smith, Jimmy Childre, Jr, Charles Blue, Tim Norwood, Dean Blount and Ronny May.

Mr. Parker was a native and life long resident of Washington County, the son of the late Ira Lee Parker, Sr. and the late Lydia Todd Parker. He was a retired supervisor for the Thiele Kaolin Company. He was a member of the First Southern Methodist Church and an army veteran of World War II. Mr. Parker was an avid outdoors person and loved hunting and fishing. He was predeceased by a brother, Roy Parker and a sister, Irene Hubbard.

Survivors are his wife, Nell Doolittle Parker of Sandersville, his children, Jessie Lisa Parker of Sandersville, Jana Maria Parker of Dunwoody and Anthony Mark Parker and his wife Robin of Wrightsville, a granddaughter, Geneve Maria Parker, a sister, Sewilla Parker of Warthen, three brothers, Walter (Sybil) Parker of Sandersville, Bobby (Linda) Parker of Tennille and Ira Lee (Sally) Parker, Jr. of Warthen.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Saturday.
