Jesse Lewis Tanner

Mr. Jesse Lewis Tanner, age 87, of 324 Chambers Brooks Spring Road in Sandersville died Friday, February 18 at his residence following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 20, 2011 in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in
Sandersville with burial in the Tabernacle United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Tanner was a native of Washington County, the son of the late Johnnie Theodore Tanner and the late Mary Jane Waller Tanner. Mr. Tanner was the husband of the late Lillie Shurling Tanner. He was a retired employee of the Georgia Kaolin Company with over 40 years of service. Mr. Tanner was a member of the Tabernacle United Methodist Church and was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors are his daughters, Patricia Boatright of Sandersville and Sandra Gazaway of Eatonton, six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, a brother, Tom Watson Tanner of Dry Branch.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral home from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Saturday.
