Jessie Miller

June 16, 1923 — March 7, 2011

Mrs. Jessie Miller, age 87, of 1471 Mayview Road, Sandersville, died March 7, 2011 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 9, at the Sisters Baptist Church. Interment Services will be held at 4:00 P.M. in the Baldwin Memorial Gardens in Milledgeville. Rev. Burt Parker and Rev. Haywood Bass will officiate. Pallbearers will be Brian Dent, Tony Thigpen, Kenneth Thigpen, Greg Peavy, Stacy Peavy, and Phillip Vinson.

Mrs. Miller was a native of Wilkinson County, Georgia the daughter of the late Abner Jones Wood and the late Jewell Cannon Wood. She was predeceased by husbands; Ben Savage and James C. Miller.
Mrs. Miller was a nurse’s aide at the Milledgeville State Hospital for many years. She was a former member of the Grace Baptist Church in Milledgeville, and became a member of the Sisters Baptist Church when she moved to Sandersville. She was predeceased by three grandchildren; Tammy Dent French, Leslie Dent, and Michael Thigpen.

Survivors include her daughters, Annette Dent (Herbert) of Sandersville, Betty Allen (Wayne) of Milledgeville, Carole Cramer (Jeffery) of Deepstep, and a son Fred Savage (Malecia) of Milledgeville,
9 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great Great Grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Mamye Biggs of Milledgeville.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00- 8:00 PM at the May & Smith Funeral Home, Sandersville, Ga.

The family suggests donations be made to the Sisters Baptist Church, 1807 E. McCarty Street, Sandersville, Georgia 31082 or to Grace Baptist Church, P. O. Box 1179, Milledgeville, Ga. 31061.
