Jewel Haygood Brown

Mrs. Jewel Haygood Brown, age 71, of Park Avenue in Sandersville died on Friday, March 1, 2013, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 4th, in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Brownwood Cemetery in Sandersville. The Rev. Jeff Bishop will officiate. Pallbearers will be Harold Brown, Bert Brown, Harry Lord, David Story, Charlie Giles and Ken Meeks.

Mrs. Brown was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the daughter of the late Wyatt Haygood and the late Thelma Taylor Haygood. She was a retired sales person for West Drug Company and a homemaker. Mrs. Brown was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sandersville.

Survivors are: her daughter, Carla Brown Green and her husband Walter of Milledgeville and a son, Ken Brown and his wife Leslie of Watkinsville; four grandchildren, Stephany Walls and her husband Jared, Mary Margaret Brown, Olivia Brown and Caroline Rae Brown.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. on Sunday.
