Mrs. Jewell Godbee Brake, age 75, of Greensboro died on Friday morning, February 12, 2016, at her residence.
Funeral services for Mrs. Brake will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, February 15, in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville with burial in the Zeta Cemetery in Tennille. Reverend Darell Young will officiate.
Pallbearers will be George Johnson, Christopher Johnson, Elbert Johnson, Jr., Buddy Johns, Joe Johns, and Charles Smith.
Mrs. Brake was a native of Wilkinson County, Georgia, the daughter of the late William Johns and the late Nan Lee Reynolds Johns. She was a retired ward clerk with 32 years of service at Central State Hospital. She was a member of the Coopers Baptist Church.
Survivors are her husband, Amazing Brake of Greensboro, two daughters, Sarah Goins of Milledgeville and Penny Davis and her husband Cecil of Tennille, a son, Russell Curtis Johnson of Milledgeville, two grandchildren, Eric Davis and Shanna Avrett, a great grandson, Ryder James Avrett, two brothers, Joe Johns of wrens and Buddy Johns of Eatonton and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 1:00 P.M. on Monday until the hour of service.
The family will be at the residence of Penny and Cecil Davis on Waco Mill Road.
May and Smith Funeral Directors in Sandersville is in charge of the arrangements.
