Jimmy Dewayne Screws

Jimmy Dewayne Screws, age 43, of Sandersville, died Tuesday, July 25, 2017.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 29 ^th at 11:00 a.m. at Friendship Baptist Church on County Line Road with burial in the church cemetery.   Reverend David Smith will officiate.  Pallbearers will be Joey Reece, Rodney Reece, Daniel Screws, Brian Avant, Thomas Avant, Shannon Anderson, Keyton Tapley, and Randy Kirkland.   Honorary Pallbearer will be Thomas Smith.

Dewayne was born in McDuffie County.   He worked as carpenter with Avant Construction prior to obtaining a Commercial Driver’s License and working as a truck driver.  His last work was with his brother, Tony at Tony’s Lawn Service.  Dewayne was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and supported the Jimmy Swaggart Ministry.  He loved the outdoors, fishing and riding his golf cart.

Survivors are: his daughter, Kayla Nicole Screws; parents, Jimmy and Ruby Gunn Screws; brother, Tony Screws and his wife Amy all of Sandersville; sisters, Vickie S. Osborne and her husband Mike of Augusta and Carolyn S. Kent and her husband Clay of Eatonton; adopted brother, Scott Kicklighter; nieces, Katelyn Corbin and Bethany Screws; and a great niece and nephew, Isabella Dennard and Zylan Corbin.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.
