Mrs. Joan Waters Brantley, age 84, of Harrison, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at her residence following an extended illness. A graveside funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, March 21st at 2:00 p.m. in the Orr Family Cemetery. Reverend Larry Glover will officiate. Pallbearers will be Harris Blue, Mandel Waters III, Bobby Waters, John Waters, Ike Pool, Ethan Wilson, Juan Lopas, and Alex Wilkerson. Mrs. Brantley's family will greet friends at graveside.

Joan was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, where she attended school and began her working career at Washington Manufacturing Company. She later became a seamstress and worked at Royal Manufacturing. Joan was also a homemaker and finished her working career as a well-known and trusted waitress at the Huddle House. She loved to dance and care for flowers. Above all, Joan enjoyed being with family. She is predeceased by her parents, Charlie Will Brantley Sr. and Margaret Orr Brantley, her son, Frank Charlie Waters, her grandson, Will Clayton Waters and siblings, June Attaway, Janice Reese, Charlene Jeanette Smith, and Charlie Will Brantley Jr.

Survivors include her children, Mandel C. Waters, Jr. and his wife Susie, Laura Lea Waters Smith and Randall Carlton "Randy" Waters, all of Harrison, Jimmy C. Waters and his wife Nancy of Tennille; 8 grandchildren, 22 Great Grandchildren and 10 Great-Great Grandchildren.
