Joanne E. Whaley

Miss Joanne E. Whaley, age 83, of Mayfield, died Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at the Gibson Health and Rehab in Gibson following an extended illness. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 2nd at 2:00 p.m. at the Horeb Baptist Church in Mayfield. Her family will receive friends prior to and following the memorial service at the church.

Miss Whaley was born in Hancock County the daughter of the late Emory Northern Whaley Sr. and the late Estelle Carr Whaley. She was the valedictorian of her high school class and an excellent seamstress using her talent to make clothes for family. Miss Whaley was a homemaker and a member of the Horeb Baptist Church.

She is survived by many cherished and caring nieces and nephews.
