Joe Brown Veal

Mr. Joe Brown Veal, age 77 of Tennille died Sunday morning June 27 in the Washington Regional Medical Center in Sandersville following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday June 29 in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville with burial in the West View Cemetery in Wrightsville. The Rev. Jack Key will officiate. Pallbearers will be Hueal Veal, Billy Veal, Jack Veal, Tony Veal, Allen Veal, and Joseph Dalias.

Mr. Veal was a native of Washington County, Georgia, the son of the late Joe Brown Gordon Veal and the late Rosa Mae Tompkins Veal. He was a farmer and a member of the Washington County Farm Bureau. Mr. Veal was a member of the Bay Springs Methodist Church.

Survivors are two daughters, Elaine Veal Black of Tennille and Jolaine Veal Whitehead of Bishop, seven grandchildren, Jacob Black and his wife Heather, Rachel Black, Adam Black, Taylor Whitehead, Logan Whitehead, Annaston Whitehead and Jordan Whitehead, a great granddaughter, Lexi Black, four sisters, Doris Knox of Martinez, Dorothy Abernathy of Austell, Mary Sherwood of Macon and Ola Mask of Valdosta and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Monday.
