John D Anderson

d. October 3, 2022

Rev. John Devayor Anderson II (aka Johnny Anderson) left this world to receive his reward for 60 years of faithful service to his Lord on October 3, 2022. He was preceded in death by his first wife (Melinda Usry Anderson), his mother (Bertha Caudill Anderson), his father (Devayor Tompkins Anderson), his brother (Mark Anthony Anderson), and other family members that were awaiting him on the other side. He is survived by many family members and friends who will miss him dearly: wife - Brenda Anderson; daughter - Rochelle (Terry) Smith, granddaughter - Katerra (Kyle) Cole, grandsons - Callan Smith and Cole Smith, great-grandson - Kason John Cole (named after his great-grandfather); sister – Mary Ann (Sammy) Bowers, brothers - Danny (Glenda) Anderson and David (Pat) Anderson; stepchildren - Christy Bales and her family and Tracy Churchwell and his family, and many nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends. He loved to be funny, spend time with family, see God’s beautiful creation, play Bible trivia, etc., but his favorite thing to do was to work for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He spent his life ministering to others, and when mobility issues began plaguing him in the last four years, he would sit in his chair and call people to check on them. So, he was always working to be about his Father’s business. He leaves behind a legacy of faithfulness in service to God and unmatched love and devotion to his family.
