John Michael Boyd

Mr. John Michael Boyd, age 64, of Tennille died on Saturday, May 14, 2022 in an Augusta hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2022 in Washington County Memorial Gardens.  Reverend Lamar Brantley will officiate.

Mr. Boyd was a native of Washington County, son of the late James Dennis Boyd, Jr. and late Frances Smith Boyd.  He was preceded in death by a son, Samuel “Peanut” Eugene Bussell and siblings, Joe Dale Boyd, James Dennis Boyd III and Claire Brett.  He was a retired truck driver.  Mr. Boyd was an organ donor.

Survivors are his sister, Sandra Bird of Douglas; brother, Ike Boyd of Tennille; nieces and nephews, Desiree Purvis, Chuck Bird, James Dennis Boyd IV,  Melisa Alday, Jennifer McLeod, Anne Marie Johnson, Dwight Boyd, Ashley Brett and Tyler Brett; several great and great-great nieces and nephews. special cousin, Terri Crook Mason.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 18, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.

The family will receive friends at the home of David Nolan, 30 East Lake Drive, Sandersville, Ga 31082.
