John Ivey Durden Iii

Mr. John Ivey “Johnny” Durden III, age 61, died Thursday, November 28, 2019 at his residence.  A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 1 ^st at 2:00 p.m. in May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel.  Reverend Bobby Williford will officiate.  The family will be at the Travis Durden residence on E. McCarty Street in Sandersville on Saturday and they will also receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service on Sunday at the Funeral Home.

Johnny was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the son of the late John Ivey Durden Jr. and the late Patricia Jones “Pat” Durden.  He was a long time employee of Barker and Associates surveying land prior to working for Kentucky-Tennessee Clay Company.  Johnny worked for C.T. Harris Inc. and Howard Sheppard Inc. as a truck driver prior to assuming a position in safety.

Survivors are his sons, John Brandon Durden and his wife Katheryn and Travis Jay Durden and his wife Angie all of Sandersville; grandchildren, Hannah Durden, Ivey Durden, Will Durden, Jackson Durden and John Durden; and aunts, Linda Durden and Thelma Hall both of Sandersville.
