Mr. John Micheal Turner, age 49, of Warthen, died on Sunday, September 3, 2017, in an Augusta hospital following a brief illness. Memorial services for Mr. Turner will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 9 in May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville. Reverend Danny Thomas will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. on Saturday until the hour of service.
Mr. Turner was a native of Randolph County, Illinois, the son of the late Carlos Watson Turner (Smokey). He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Watson Turner. He was an auto body repairman for WACO Collision. Mr. Turner attended the First Church of the Nazarene and was a member of the Hamilton Masonic Lodge #58 F&AM.
Survivors are his wife, Melissa Brown of Warthen; his mother, Janice L. Vinson of Nashville, TN; his children, Carlos Watson Turner of Warthen, Brianna Brown (Thomas) and Jodie Brown of Warthen; two grandchildren, Carter Lawrence and Michael Shelton; mother in law, Sandra Burns of Warthen, two brothers, Christopher Turner and his wife Elizabeth of Lugoff, SC, and Carl Turner of Nashville, three aunts, Regina Walton, Rachel Lord and Florene Brown all of Sandersville.
The family suggests that memorial donations be made to Melissa Burke Brown – Memorial Fund for John M. Turner c/o Citizens Bank of the South P. O. Box 836, Sandersville, Georgia 31082.
