John West Veal

Mr. John West Veal, age 60, of Tennille, passed away Friday, November 26, 2021 at University Hospital in Augusta following g a brief illness.  A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. in May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Brownwood Cemetery. Reverend Scott Veal will officiate.

West was a native of Washington County, the son of the late Gene Alex (G.A.) Veal and Kattie Rosalind Brantley Veal. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Larry Gene Veal.  He was a former operator for Imerys Kaolin Company.

West is survived by his fiancé, Wanda Todd Stovall of Tennille; her children, Cristal Everett (Chris), John Mathis, Gerrald Mathis, Billie Jean Conklin (Michael), and Ronnie Stovall (Sierra); and her grandchildren, Austin Peacock, Laney Peacock, Jase Everett, Skylar Conklin, Levi Conklin, Tucker Bo Conklin, Emmett Stovall and Easton Stovall; his sisters, Joan Veal McDonald (Johnny) of Oconee, and Ceresa Veal Parker; and his brother, Gene Alex Veal, Jr. (Barbara) of Tennille.

The family will greet friends on Monday, November 29 at May and Smith Funeral Home from 5 -7 p.m.
