Mr. John William “Billy” Walker, age 76, of Sandersville, formerly of Warner Robins, died Wednesday, August 7, 2013. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00am at the Chapel of the May and Smith Funeral Home with burial at 4:00pm at the Parkway Memorial Gardens in Warner Robins. Rev. Lee Lacey and Rev. Roy Smith will officiate.
Mr. Walker was born in Dodge County the son of the late Zeb Walker and the late Mittie Willcox Walker. He was retired from Warner Robins Air Force Base as a systems analyst. Mr. Walker moved to Sandersville in 2005 and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sandersville. He was an avid fisherman and loved Nascar racing. He is predeceased by his wife Florine Vaughn Walker.
Survivors are; his daughter Carla W. Belcher and her husband Don of Tennille, grandsons Ethan Belcher and Austin Belcher both of Tennille and sisters, Nell W. Anderson of Rhine, Faye W. Williams of Suwanee, Mary W. Anderson of Atlanta, Maggie W. Pittman and her husband R.L. of Eastman and Jean W. Coody of Woodstock.
The family will be at the Belcher residence on Club Forest Drive in Tennille and they will receive friends Friday evening from 5 to 7pm at the May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
