Mrs. Johnnie Mae Enfinger Phillips, age 92, of Tarver Grove Road in Bartow, Georgia passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, June 15, 2026. A private family committal service will be held at the Chattanooga National Cemetery in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where she will be buried next to her late husband Jimmie Paul Phillips.
Mrs. Phillips was born and reared in Colquitt, Georgia, daughter of the late Telly Enfinger and the late Vivian King Chestnut. She married at a young age to the love of her life Jimmie and for years made her home wherever his military career took them. Following her husband’s military retirement, they moved back to Tampa Florida, where Mrs. Phillips began a working career in County Government with Hillsboro County, retiring as a grant writer. She and Jimmie built a retirement home in the mountains of Hiawassee, Georgia. Mrs. Phillips loved to sew and made many of her children’s clothes when they were young. She was a talented artist and enjoyed painting. Later in life she took a class to learn how to re-cane furniture.
Survivors include her daughters, Sandra Albritton and her husband Carl of Bartow, Ga. and Paulette Keller and her husband Brian of Largo, Fl.; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
