Mr. Jordan Smith “Buddy” Williamson, Jr., age 63, of 6428 Heard’s Bridge Road in Bartow died Tuesday August 11 in the Medical Center in Macon. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday August 14 in the New Hope Methodist Church with burial in the Brownwood Cemetery in Sandersville. The Rev. Chad Watkins will officiate.
Mr. Williamson was a native and life long resident of Washington County, the son of the late Jordan Smith Williamson, Sr. and the late Mollie Smith Williamson. He was the owner of Logging Inc.. Mr. Williamson was a logger, a farmer and a cattleman. He was a member of the Board of Directors for Queensboro Bank. Mr. Williamson was named Soil Conservationist and Farmer of the Year in Washington County. He was a member of the New Hope Methodist Church and the United Methodist Men.
Survivors are his wife of forty three years, Sandra Burgamy Williamson of Bartow, his children, Paula (Tim) Chapman of Davisboro, Jordie (Kelly) Williamson of Davisboro and Brian W. (Shana) Sims of Bartow, nine grandchildren, Carl Chapman, Emily Chapman, Stone Chapman, Jordan Williamson III, Jenny Williamson, Samuel Williamson, Abby Sims, Mollie Sims and Kaden Sims, his sister, Mollie W. (Victor) Sims of Davisboro.
The family suggests donations may be made to the New Hope Methodist Church Building Fund, c/o Mrs. Denise Boyd, 10528 Highway 242, Harrison, Georgia 31035.
The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. on Thursday.
May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville is in charge of the arrangements.
