Joseph Rossidivito

Joe Rossidivito, 84, passed away on Friday, June 25, 2021, surrounded by his family at home in Sandersville, GA. Funeral Service will take place at May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, June 28, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. with burial following at Memorial Gardens. Rev. Gary Griffin will officiate. Pallbearers will be the Sandersville Fire Department.

Joseph Francis Rossidivito was born on April 1, 1937, in Pottsville, PA. Joe was one of eight children in a loving Italian family raised in Trenton, NJ. During his late teens, the family migrated south to Flagler Beach, FL. At the age of 18, Joe enlisted in the United States Air Force where he was stationed at Elgin Air Force Base near Pensacola, FL. After military service, Joe worked for the Gulf Oil Company in Atlanta, GA for 35 years when he took early retirement and moved to Sandersville, GA. Joe spent the remainder of his career with the Sandersville Fire Department as Captain with a combined service of over 30 years.

Joe is predeceased by his parents, Mercurio Rossidivito and Josephine Gorassi Rossidivito; brothers, Pat Rossidivito, Mark Rossidivito, and Gene Rossidivito; sisters, Dee Rossidivito Taylor, and Ann Marie Rossidivito Parrish.

Survivors are his wife, Alisa Haynes Rossidivito; children, Durinda Orr of Blairsville, GA, Joe Rossidivito Jr. and wife Laura Cole Rossidivito of Decatur, GA, Greg Rossidivito and wife Susannah Brown of Hickory, NC; grandchildren, Adrienne Orr, and Julia Orr; and siblings Gabe Rossidivito and wife Rose Marie Rossidivito of Cream Ridge, NJ, and Joanne Edwards of Yardville, NJ; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Sunday, June 27, 2021, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at May and Smith Funeral Home.
