Joseph Wendall Smith

Mr. Joseph Wendall Smith, age 85, of Sandersville, died on Friday April 24,2020 at his residence. A private graveside funeral service will be held in Brownwood Cemetery in Sandersville. Elder Kenneth Brantley will officiate.

Friends may pay their respects on Sunday, April 26 from 3:00-4:00 p.m. in numbers of ten or less at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.

Mr. Smith was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the son of the late Otis Weaver Smith and the late Bessie Claud Brantley Smith. He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Wynn Smith and his siblings, Reba Smith Butler and Rhunelle Smith Peterman. Mr. Smith was a retired lab technician for Thiele Kaolin Company. He attended Mt. Gilead Primitive Baptist Church.

Survivors are his wife, Elizabeth (Beth) Rogers Smith of Sandersville, brother, Otis Smith of Sandersville and several nieces and nephews.
