Joshua Irwin Fowler, 53, died Saturday morning, October 26, 2024, of natural causes at his home, in Waycross, Georgia.
Josh lived all over the world as an “Army Brat” and moved to Waycross in 2011, where he was the owner-operator of Two Guys Beverage, Tobacco and Cigar Warehouse. He was a 1989 graduate of West Springfield High School in Virginia, attended West Georgia College in Carrollton, Georgia and later worked for Premium Distributors in Virginia before coming to Georgia in 2009 to help care for his grandfather.
Josh never met a stranger and lit up any room he entered. His boundless personality extended to friends, family and co-workers for whom he was always there. An avid Georgia Bulldog fan, Josh loved English Bulldogs and treasured his first Bulldog, Dooley, and his second, Herschel. Single and with no children, both his “Dawgs” were his family and were truly loved, deservedly so!
As part of an Army family, Josh grew up in and around military bases in New Jersey, Fort Gordon, GA., Fort Leavenworth, KS., Grafenwoehr, Germany, Berlin, Germany, Washington, DC., and Seoul, Korea. His experiences instilled in him a patriotic love of country and respect for those whom he met all over the world. He is survived by his mother and father, Anne and Zack Fowler, of Pawleys Island, SC; his brother Jeff, sister-in-law Amy, niece Alex Fowler, nephews Sam and Jack Fowler, all of Houston, TX, his uncle Rick Frisbie of Tucker, GA., aunt Marjorie Bridges of Seneca, SC and cousins Hank Bridges of Houston, TX and Elizabeth Pedrotti of San Antonia, TX.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Spud and Sara Bridges of Vidalia, GA, uncle Irwin Bridges of Seneca, SC, Aunt Jane Frisbie of Tucker, GA., paternal grandparents R.W. and Cornelia Fowler and Uncle David Fowler, all of Vidalia, GA.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday (October 30, 2024) at 3:00pm in the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel, 130 Screven Ave., Waycross, GA, 31501.
