Mrs. Judy Farrer Garner, age 68, Walden Road in Sandersville, died Monday, February 25, 2013 at the Washington County Extended Care Facility. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 27th at 2:00pm at the First Baptist Church of Sandersville with burial in the Brownwood Cemetery. Rev. Lee Lacey will officiate. Pallbearers will be Mike Sheppard, Horace Daniel, Skip Wommack, Roger Vickery, Kenny Eady, Jimmy McElhaney, and Jimmy Harris.
Mrs. Garner was born in Louisville the daughter of the late Quinton Price Farrer and the late Annie Evelyn Manning Farrer. She worked as a customer service representative for Burgess Pigment Company for 25 years and she was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Sandersville where she was a former children’ s Sunday school teacher and a current member of the Cornerstone Sunday school class. Judy had a heart for mission work, serving as co-chair the First Baptist Mission team as well as traveling eighteen times to West Africa sharing the message of God’s love to children. She was also a former member of the Washington County Pilot Club and the Garden Club.
Survivors are; her husband Billy Garner of Sandersville, children Marc Daniel (Angie) Jones of Mobile, Alabama, Cecil Wade (Bonita) Jones of Sandersville, Terrie Garner of Topeka, Kansas, and Stan Austin (Connie) Garner of Sandersville, sisters, Francine F. Wright of Savannah and Anna F. (Al) Deal of West Columbia, South Carolina, and brothers, Quinton P. (Kathy) Farrer Jr. of Louisville and Al Q. Farrer of Wadley.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday in the Sanctuary of the First Baptist Church of Sandersville from 4 to 6pm.
