REVISED Mrs. Judy Brooks Hutcheson, age 64, of Avant Cemetery Road, Tennille, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2024 in Macon following a brief illness. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Friday, February 16th at 4:00 p.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Her family will receive friends prior to the service starting at 3:00 p.m.
Judy was born and reared in Milledgeville, the daughter of the late Cicero Washington Brooks and the late Margaret Vashti Wilkins Brooks. She began a working career following her marriage and move to Washington County first as a seamstress for Royal Manufacturing and then the William Carter Company. She later worked for Penny's Title Pawn. For much of her life, Judy was a homemaker taking care of a family she loved so much. She had a passion for searching for arrowheads and other native American artifacts. Judy possessed a talent for growing plants and flowers and she loved spending time at her tiny home in what she called "Brooksville". Judy cherished being with family and especially her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is also predeceased by her brother, Dean Brooks.
Survivors include her beloved husband, Thomas Aaron "Tom" Hutcheson Jr.; sons, Thomas A. Hutcheson III and his wife Jackie of Milledgeville and Ethan Wayne Hutcheson and his wife Taylor of Tennille; grandchildren, Nevaeh Lynn Hutcheson and Ethan Jace Hutcheson; siblings, Annette Bacon and her husband Curt of Augusta, Gail Roberson and her husband James, Janice White, Penny Brantley and her husband Lee, Jean Babb and her husband Curtis and Wayne Brooks all of Milledgeville and her best companion, her dog Aggie.
