Mrs. Julia Rose Young Hartley, age 90, of Tennille died on Wednesday night, February 25, 2015, in the Extended Care Facility in Sandersville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, March 1st, in the Mt. Gilead Primitive Baptist Church near Tennille with burial in the Mt. Gilead Church Cemetery. The Elder Kenneth Brantley will officiate.
Mrs. Hartley was a native of Washington County, the daughter of the late George C. Young and the late Vianna Waters Young. She was a longtime resident of Radcliff Kentucky before moving back to Tennille in 1989. She was the wife of the late Cleon Bartow Hartley, Jr.; and the mother of the late Linda Marie Hartley and the late Julia Ellen Hartley. Mrs. Hartley was an active member of the Mt. Gilead Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors are her son, David Hartley and his wife Rita of Elizabethtown Kentucky; two grandchildren, Ericka Howey and Bryan Howey; two great-grandchildren, Tessa P. Howey and William D. Howey; a loving sister, Mary Young Price of Statesboro; and some very special nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Mt. Gilead Primitive Baptist Church from 1:00 P.M. on Sunday until the hour of service.
The family suggests donations be made to the Mt .Gilead Primitive Baptist Church, 154 Mt. Gilead Church Road, Tennille, Georgia 31089.
