Julius W. Jackson

October 17, 1932 — December 3, 2011

Mr. Julius W. Jackson, age 79, of 242 Church Street in Harrison died Saturday December 3 at his residence following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday December 5 in the Harrison Baptist Church with burial in the Harrison Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Glenn Farmer and Rev. Andy Carter will officiate. Pallbearers will be Lamar Cullens, Jamie Swint, Gary Bedgood, John Sinquefield, Kerry Jackson, and Wayne Logue.

Mr. Jackson was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the son of the late John W. Jackson and the late Edna Hartley Jackson. He was retired from the federal government as a program analyst with over thirty five years of service. He previously served for almost twenty years as Chief of Security for Howard Sheppard, Inc. Mr. Jackson was a United States Air Force veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a life member of the D. A. V. and a member of the American Legion. Mr. Jackson was an emeritus member of the Anderson Masonic Lodge # 243 of Wrightsville. He was a member of the Harrison Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and in other various positions of the church.

Survivors are his wife of 56 years, Hazel Logue Jackson of Harrison, a daughter, Julie J. Kitchings and her husband Jim of Tennille, a grandson, Jarrett (Paula) Kitchings of Midway, a granddaughter, Jenna Kitchings of Savannah, great granddaughter, Jaci Dawn Kitchings and great grandson, Colton Thad Kitchings of Midway, a brother, Edwin S. Jackson of Harrison, his nephews, Tracy Jackson of Harrison and Kerry (Bonnie) Jackson of Sandersville.

The family will be at the Jackson residence, 242 Church Street in Harrison.

The family suggests donations be made to the Animal Control Shelter, 430 Beck Blvd., Sandersville, Georgia 31082 or Hospice Care, 811 N. Cobb Street, Milledgeville, Georgia 31061
