Katherine May Wilson

Mrs. Katherine May Wilson, age 83, of 207 East Church Street in Sandersville died Saturday September 18 in the Doctors Hospital in Augusta following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday September 22 in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville with burial in the Zeta Cemetery in Tennille. The Rev. Roy Smith will officiate. Pallbearers will be Leroy Powell, Johnny Ray Stafford, Mitch Stafford, Charles Blue, William Blue, Joe Williams, Corbin Bell and Bunion Tanner.

Mrs. Wilson was a native of Washington County, the daughter of the late Lester May and the late Eunice May. She was predeceased by her daughter, Faye Wilson Riner. Mrs. Wilson was a former nurse at the Rawlings Sanatorium and a homemaker. She was a member of the Pine Hill United Methodist Church.

Survivors are her husband, Bennie Wilson of Sandersville, a daughter, Brenda Wilson Smart Cardo and her husband Steve of Augusta, four grandchildren, Lee (Shana) Smart, Tianna Smart (Leroy) Powell, April Riner (Mitch) Stafford and Jennifer Riner (Corbin) Bell, nine great grandchildren, Alexander Smart, Andrew Smart, Alivia Smart, J. T. Powell, Kaylee Powell, Gracie Stafford, Addison Faye Stafford, Cole Bell and Conner Bell.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 P.M. Wednesday until the hour of service.
