Kathryne Arrington Jones

Mrs. Kathryne Arrington Jones, of Hwy. 24 East in Louisville, died Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at Jefferson Hospital. Mrs. Jones was a native and life-long resident of Jefferson County, the daughter of the late Thomas Watson Arrington and the late Mattie Jones Arrington. Kathryne earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgia State College for Women, presently known as Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville. She attended Louisville Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. She was a retired bookkeeper for Louisville Fertilizer and Gin Company and A.P. Jones Timber Company, where she worked for many years. Mrs. Jones was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was an avid bridge player and was a member of several bridge clubs; and she loved gardening. She always loved gatherings with her large family.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, November 23, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the Louisville Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church with Rev. Doug White officiating. Visitation will be immediately following in the Church Social Hall.

Honorary Pallbearers will be James B. Polhill IV, Johnny J. Jones, Jr., Samuel T. Arrington, Jr., Don H. Evans, Jr., J. Thomas Watson III, and Phillip M. Prichard.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Andrew P. Jones, Jr., her loving husband of 60 years, preceded her in death. Mrs. Jones is also predeceased by a daughter, Kathryne Lynn Jones Drake and her brother, Samuel Thomas Arrington. She is survived by her children, A.P. Jones III (Judy) of Louisville, Thomas W. Jones (Vicki) of Augusta, Walter R. Jones (Becky) of Louisville, and Jennifer J. Cangelosi (Tom) of Roswell; grandchildren, Drew Jones IV (Kecia) of Demorest, Emily J. Sheppard (Trey) of Sandersville, April C. Schmidt (Bernie) of Cranston, RI, Kathryne Jones Vincelli of Fort Mill, SC, Thomas Watson Jones Jr., of Charlotte, NC, Dexter Russell Drake Jr. and Allison Marie Drake both of Waynesboro, Kathryne Rebecca Jones, and Samuel Walter Edenfield Jones both of Louisville, and Anna Kathryne Cangelosi of Roswell; great- grandchildren, Andrew P. Jones V, Eleanor Grace Jones, Howard Clifford Sheppard IV, Emerson Callaway Sheppard, Anne Marie Sheppard, Benjamin Jones Sheppard, Kate Schmidt, Luke Schmidt, Alfred Joseph Vincelli III, Thomas Holden Vincelli, and William Christopher Vincelli.
