Miss Kay Clark, age 66, of Sandersville, died Friday, October 6, 2017 following an extended illness. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 10 th at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Sandersville with Reverend Lee Lacey officiating. A graveside committal service will be held also on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Culverton Baptist Church Cemetery in Culverton. Kay’s nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Miss Clark was born in Hancock County, the daughter of the late Warren E. Clark and the late Enda C. Clark. She was an educator working as a primary school teacher with the Washington County Board of Education from which she retired. Kay was an active member of First Baptist Church of Sandersville and she worked as a volunteer for the American Cancer Society and Relay for Life. Kay was an avid sports fan, always cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs, the Atlanta Falcons and Braves. Kay also possessed a love of gardening, especially flowers. She is predeceased by her brother, Benny L. Clark.
Survivors are; her siblings, Barbara C. Goldman and her husband Milton of Thomson, Willie Clark of Milledgeville, Ed Clark of Sparta, Lillie Mae C. Capehart of Sandersville, Jerry Clark and his wife Mary Anne of Sparta, Joanne C. Harned and her husband Ben of Sandersville and Ruthie C. Sheley and her husband Randy of Davisboro and two beloved and devoted friends, Sandra Bruce and Susan Buchanan both of Sandersville.
The family will be at the Clark residence on Hardwood Hollow in Sandersville and they will receive friends on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
