Kay Channell Hartley

October 21, 1956 — October 25, 2020

Mrs. Kay Channell Hartley, age 64, of Tennille, died on Sunday October 25, 2020 in a local hospital following an extended illness. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 28 at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery. Reverend Jarrett Burch and Reverend Andy Yates will officiate.

Mrs. Hartley was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the daughter of the late George Beman Channell and the late Hazel Jones Channell.  She is preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Channell.  Mrs. Hartley was a graduate of Georgia College Nursing Program where she worked as a registered nurse for Heritage Inn of Sandersville. Mrs. Hartley was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church where she served as church organist.

Survivors are her husband, Hodges Hartley of Tennille; son, Joseph Hodges Hartley and his wife Lauren of Harrison; daughter, Ashley Hartley Poole and her husband Brad of Tennille; grandsons, Wyatt Stan Hartley and Bryce Rufus Poole; nieces, Tanya England and Brandy Channell and other nieces and nephews.

The family will greet friends at the cemetery following the service.

The family suggest donations be made to Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, 270 News Bridge Road, Tennille, Georgia 31089.

May and Smith Funeral Directors in Sandersville is in charge of the arrangements.
