Kenneth Ray Adams

June 29, 1947 — October 5, 2019

Mr. Kenneth Ray Adams, age 72, of Harrison, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2019 at his residence.  A graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 8 th at 3:00 p.m. at Washington County Memorial Garden Cemetery.  Reverend Brant Kennedy and Reverend Danny Thomas will officiate.  Deacons of Bethany Baptist Church and former co-workers at Thiele Kaolin Company will stand as honorary pallbearers.

Mr. Adams was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County.  He was a 1965 graduate of Washington County High School and also a graduate of North Georgia Technical School.   He spent his entire career in the Kaolin industry working for Thiele Kaolin Company where he retired as an electrical foreman after 44 years of service.   Kenneth was a member of both Bethany Baptist Church where he served as deacon and Tennille Masonic Lodge.   He loved the outdoors, farming and traveling.  Kenneth was a pilot as well as an artist and loved wood working.  He is predeceased by his first wife, Jane Sumner Adams, son, Eric Ray Adams and father, R.W. Adams.

Survivors include his wife of forty six and a half years, Elaine Meeks Adams; children, Kendra Adams-Howard and her husband Austin of Ponte Vedra FL., and Ashlee A. Crews and her husband Brian of Durham NC.; grandchildren, Etta Crews, Ian Howard, Annie Crews and “soon to be” Arden Kensley Howard;  mother, Iris M. Adams Cordry of East Dublin; and siblings, Wayne Adams of Harrison and Seree A. Hendrix and her husband Brett of Sandersville.

The family will be at the Adams residence and they will receive friends on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
