Kenneth Lee Barker

Mr. Kenneth Lee Barker, age 71, of Harrison, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at his home on Friday, January 24, 2025.  A funeral service celebrating his life will be held on Tuesday, January 28th at 2:00 p.m. at Smyrna Baptist Church in Deepstep Georgia with burial in the Church Cemetery.  Rev. Danny Thomas and Rev. Jimmy Harris will officiate.   Serving as pallbearers will be John Mark Thomas, Brannon Timothy Hunt, Seth Lee Barker, Ethan Michael Barker, Joshua Archer and Cody Kemrite.  Kenny's family will greet friends Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service at the church.

Kenny was born in Fitzgerald Georgia and reared in Macon Georgia where as a youth he worked with his father at their family-owned auto service stations.  He graduated from Willingham High School prior to attending technical school where he was educated in electronics.  Kenny began his working career at Action Business Machine Company where he worked with copiers, cash registers and most small business machines.  He later transitioned and taught himself computer technology.  In the early 90's, Kenny and Susan moved to family land in Washington County where he began work as an information technologist with ECCI and later with KaMin Minerals from which he retired after 20 years of service.  In retirement, Kenny enjoyed woodworking, hunting and fishing.  His pride and joy were his five children and ten grandchildren.  He loved spending time with his family.  Kenny was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and Papa.  He was grateful for the grace and mercy of his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.  He loved Jesus with his whole heart and had a great desire for his family and others to experience the great riches of salvation in Jesus Christ.

Kenny's father Lee E. Barker, brother Donald E. Barker and brother and sister in law Richard and Diane Beck predecease him.

Survivors include, his loving wife of 48 years Susan B. Barker; children, Eric Lee Barker and his wife Charis of Springdale Arkansas, Elizabeth B . Archer and her husband Josh of Tennille, Emily B. Thomas and her husband John Mark of Harrison, Ellen B. Kemrite and her husband Cody of Columbia Tennessee, and Erin B. Hunt and her husband Brannon of Harrison; his mother, Katherine Rhodes Barker of Harrison; grandchildren, Seth Barker, Mikayla Barker, Ethan Barker, Alaina Thomas, Braelyn Thomas, Reagan Kemrite, Kinsley Kemrite, Nolan Kemrite, Millie Hunt and Mason Hunt and his sister, Brenda Kilby and her husband Keith of Asheboro, North Carolina; nieces and nephews, Lauren Earnhart and her husband Daniel, Keith Kilby, Jr. and his wife Nicci, Meagan Staley, Alan Beck and wife Jordan, Kimberly Beck and her fiancée Derek Shrewsbury and Lindsey Brown and her husband Zach and 12 great nieces and nephews.
