Kirk Price Mayberry, Sr.

Mr. Kirk Price Mayberry, Sr., age 94, of Gainesville died on Sunday, March 27, 2016, in Gainesville.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 30th, in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville with burial in the Brownwood Cemetery in Sandersville. Reverend Dr. Joseph Buck IV will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Carwin Avant, Buddy Hudson, Frank Garbutt, Wade Brown, Marc Sack, John Dana, Chris Irwin, and Chris Alexander.

Mr. Mayberry was a native of Appomattox, Virginia, the son of the late Allen Howard Mayberry and the late Virginia Goin Mayberry. He was the husband of the late Dr. JoAnne Walker Mayberry. During the twenty nine years he lived in Gainesville he was lucky enough to have an adopted family at Mulberry Farms in Gainesville where he worked. Mr. Mayberry lived in Sandersville for many years and was a former member of the Twin City Country Club. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Mayberry was a member of the Sandersville United Methodist Church.

Survivors include: a daughter, Anne Walker Mayberry and her husband Rod of Steamboat Springs, Colorado; two sons, Kirk Price Mayberry, Jr. of Denver, Colorado, and Randy Mayberry and his wife Cathy of Sandersville; two granddaughters, Dr. Jennifer Mayberry Sasser and her husband Anthony of Brandon, MS, and Susan Hope Mayberry of New York, NY; two great grandchildren, John Anthony Sasser, Jr., and Katherine Elizabeth Sasser.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday.
